I was completely blessed to find out that two of my closest friends Sharmeley and Inoka had made the decision to get baptized. Both of these girls made a commitment in faith just weeks before I arrived. I feel as though Papa's timing is absolutely perfect. I have been able to disciple, encourage and love on these girls this whole year. We have grown closer and closer and really consider them like family and their extended family like family. If you remember from the beginning of our time coming here, I told their story of their parents being raped and murdered at the point. Their brother is Asanka, a name you hear often; Papa put Cody strategically in his life and they have a tight friendship. Though the girls are saved and continue growing, Asanka is very turned off to it. He on the other hand, leans towards Hinduism. Please continue to pray for this family. I watch these girls grow weekly, in pulling themselves away from bad influences, no longer going to the temples to pray (which is sometimes common for people to just add Jesus to the shelf with Buddha, Hindu gods etc.), and getting more and more stoked as I walk them through the Word. I love watching their faces when they read things they have never heard before or getting excited over stories; like this month I took them through the book of Ruth, one chapter a week. And I told the girls, don't cheat and read on; but I was actually stoked that Sharmeley couldn't help herself and read through the whole book after the first week's lesson. I love walking over to their house and seeing the girls sitting on their patio reading the Word. It's like they get it and their excited about it; that's the way it should be! These girls are becoming solid and I'm so thankful that Papa is working in their lives. At times you can begin to think "where are the people needing to get saved", yet when I see how Papa is working in girls like these ones, I know that this IS why I was called here. They ARE my "oikos" and now I can teach them how to reach their "oikos" and what a huge impact that can make in this community. These girls are so tied in to this community with families and friends everywhere. Please pray for their boldness and wisdom and understanding on being a world changer.
