We have visitors out this month- Tom Bauer, STN Founder and Spencer, STN staff. What better to do than day 1, hit the waves. Spencer, Cody and Babu hit the beach break waves in front of our house. Tom, myself and the kids enjoyed the sand. They got some great waves, but like many good stories have sad endings; Babu's new board given to him by pro surfer Gabriel Villaran, split in two pieces on a hard wipeout. We're stoked to have Spencer here for a couple months and having great dialogues and brainstorming for the future of STN in Sri Lanka. There's been a lot that has happened this last year and a lot to process. Its always good to be with our extended Ohana (Family).

Happy Valentines Day!
Thanks to our good friends Lathika and Sharmali for watching our kiddos, we got an evening out alone (after a long time). We had a nice evening watching the fishermen at the bridge catching prawns. Then we had a nice dinner of giant prawns. Its nice to get my husband all to myself, because I have to share him a lot ;)
Surfing And Our Local Surf Club
The waves have been good and the times with the boys even better! Cody and I have been assisting the Surf Club in meetings this month and figuring out details of the up and coming Red Bull Contest on the other side of the island. We always enjoy assisting the club in any help that they need.
Random Fun This Month
Some of our friends that own a hotel here in Arugam Bay, called us to let us know that they had a circus group that was performing around the island for free, as entertainment throughout the villages. They did a show at the restaurant that night and we took the kids to enjoy something different. It was a lot of fun and very entertaining!
Koda got to teach Sunday school for his first time this month. He did such a great job. His friend Johnny translated for him into Tamil.
These two bestie boys having a little rowdy fun on the beach.
Both of them are very strong and were very sore the next day!
The kids enjoying the quiet beach out front of our new house. It's a lot quieter, but bigger beach breaking waves.
The beautiful hills alongside the beach, close to our house
Our zoo… before we began giving some away :)
Spearfishing Season and First Family Night At Our New House
During previous years, a Russian tourist had located Cody for spearfishing and had come out again this month. Cody and a few local boys took them out to enjoy. This was business for the local boys and fun for Cody. We got to all enjoy Cody's biggest catch so far, for family night barbecue. We had our first successful family night with around 50 people, bigger than its ever been at the old house. It was a lot of fun and we witnessed the miracle of food multiplying, as so many people came; and there were even leftovers ;) We celebrated Koda and Kenai's best little buddy- Johnny's birthday that night too. Many of the teenage boys cut wood and made a new volleyball court on the beach sand just catty corner from our land. We had a blast playing volleyball, carambe and eating yummy food! First Family Night was off to a great start at our new location!
