Homeschool Fun!

We're so proud of our kiddos and good they're doing in school. It's been a blessing to start homeschooling them. Koda is at a pre-kindergarten age and Kenai is at a pre-school age, but they are both beyond that level. They are reading and Koda is writing. It really helps mommy with teaching when they enjoy it so much. We have fun with all of the fun things their grandma's and grandpa's got them, such as curriculum books, puzzles, paints, coloring books and crayons, reading books and programs, electronic teaching games, etc. We're still doing school every weekday morning, except Monday (because of Ladie's Tea). We start around 8:30 am and finish around 11:30 am. On Friday's, we go to the school in Pottuvil, the next town over, where I teach and Koda is a student there. It's a lot of fun. All of the kids are Muslim, except Koda. Its fun teaching them songs. We even got them singing, "I'm in the Lord's Army." You've gotta see around 30 little Muslim kids singing that song, with hand motions and all. My kids are beginning to understand the grip that "religion" and "idolatry" have on this country. At the end of our street is a Buddhist temple and everywhere you drive, you see statues left and right. We've explained to the kids about them and as they read their little colorful Bibles, its beginning to click, especially for Koda. When we walk by or drive by, now he points and says "We don't pray to those idols; we only pray to God." It blesses our hearts that God is already doing a work in our kid's hearts. When I get the chance to ride my bike in the mornings, I usually ride to the next town over; and just at the beginning of that town is a large statue and temple. I stop every time to pray over the stronghold that is in this country. Please pray with us, as it is so heavy. We've been so cautious as to what we can put in our newsletters and blogs; but now that I have changed many things on it and avoided our names and emails, I pray that it is secure and that we can share more of our hearts with you all on these types of issues. Thanks for praying!
