While Cody was in Colombo with the surf club boys, I decided one afternoon after school was over, to take the boys and Ruby on an adventure. Ruby had never been to most of the places we went and neither had we, so we had a blast!
I hired my friend Potemale, a tuk-tuk driver to take us to different spots heading south on the island. We started of the drive with strawberry and chocolate milks all around.
Ruby had my sarong on her head to stay shaded and Potemale used his rug from the tuk-tuk for his hat. Our first stop... Crocodile Rock. This is a popular surf spot, but the waves were not that good that day so we had it all to ourselves.
Crocodile Rock.... view looking out to the ocean
We climbed up the rocks and found little caves
The boys had fun climbing and exploring
Crocodile Rock... the far off land is Arugam Bay
Our next destination... Panama.... to check out the crocodiles in the lagoon.
If you can see the heads popping up.. this is how close we were to them. Kinda sketchy
Ruby and I enjoying the day together
Croc cruising through the lagoon
Next stop.... Okanda.... this is a famous surf spot also, but waves weren't so good, so we had it all to ourselves. Kenai was worn out from the journey so far and needed a nap. He slept for an hour on the beach, all strategically shading my lil white man :)
Ruby enjoying the water coming up on the rock
Koda climbing away
We had a great day together. It was fun to have an adventure with my kiddos to myself, yet also bless Ruby by getting away from the normal routine and see something new.
