Today Cody spent the entire day helping one of our friends Asunka put in electricity at the Point. He owns the best property in Arugam Bay; the property that his dad left him after his mom was raped and murdered and dad also murdered (actually on this property 16 years ago). We, along with Johnson (his cousin) and also Asunka's sisters, have been encouraging Asunka to get a full restaurant going to have this as a business. Right now they live off of the money that Asunka makes fishing. But when fishing season is over, like it is slowly ending now, the 3 siblings live off of the money Asunka wins in surf competitions and renting out his property for the Surf Competitions. With all the tourists that are out at the point surfing, he will have a booming business. I have offered my help in cooking/waitressing (free of wage) for the restaurant. We'll keep you posted!
Today I spent the morning helping my friend Mona paint her house. The funny thing is that its completely normal to paint your house hot pink, hot green, blue... you name it. Her choice was pink and orange.
