So we decided to go as a family on a little Science class safari- just 20 minutes from our house. As we proceeded off of the paved road into the jungle, we soon came upon an Elephant eating away….
The kids got off of the motorbike to get a closer look. Cody was the driver; I was the photographer.
We decided to get back on the bike and head off to find crocodiles, when all of a sudden, my adventurous and "no fear" husband decided to drive towards the elephant. As the motorbike revved and the elephant must've felt endangered, (this was the last shot I got), the elephant at this point in the photo, turned towards us, stomped his feet and began charging at us. My "quick to respond" husband whipped that bike right around and sped off out of danger's way. As I was the one sitting at the back of the bike, my heart racing like never before; I was looking over my shoulder praying that God would make him stop charging. He did. And we got out of there!!!!!!!!!!…..
….but on to the next frightening species. We came upon a huge lagoon that was so beautiful. We peered out in search of CROCODILES…..
….They were everywhere!!!!! We saw probably at least 15-20 crocs in the lagoon…. but we were not the only ones there….
There were also a group of fishermen that waded in the waters with crocodiles surrounding them on all sides. I waited with my camera ready…. but there was never a human attack ;)…...
….. We realized the sun was setting and we were far into the jungle at this point. We knew that we better make our way back to familiar pavement (at least I felt that way; the driver is a lot more adventurous than I)…..
We headed off from the lagoon and back through the jungle….
…..When all of a sudden I spotted a herd of elephants. I quickly shouted at Cody to stop (hence… avoid revving the engine that makes them want to charge us)… in which he said "a little closer… just to the tree." And I (being a submissive wife- hehe, and after Cody's cute jokes about having "guns" to protect us) kept my mouth shut. We inched closer and I begged Cody to go a different way….
….but just before we made it out (in which was completely dark) we spotted deer running across the grass!!!! ….. What a fun adventure- Science class= our backyard jungle/safari/epic adventure
