We wanted to apologize for not keeping up on our blog these last 4 months. I worked so hard at keeping my dad's blog going, so many people could be praying. If you did keep up on my dad's blog or our newsletters, you know that my dad went home to be with Jesus on January 4th. We spent January to March helping my mom get many things done and prepared for her coming back to Sri Lanka with us. We were very excited for her decision to come, even though we knew it was going to be hard for all of us without dad coming (because he had wanted to come here so badly).
We left on March 25th, the day after my parents wedding anniversary, which we celebrated as a family. We traveled for a few days and made it to Sri Lanka.
On our 8 hour drive from Colombo to A-Bay, we spotted many elephants. This was mom's first elephant she saw in Sri Lanka. (but saw many more after that :)
With a quick drop of our luggage and lots of warm welcomes home, we headed for the closest spot to cool down.
One day we went as a family to Whiskey Point
Mom and I went to Ladies Tea the day after we arrived. Mona hosted and led it at her house (under the tree). It was so nice to be back with all my girls. And my mom was completely blessed to see my friends laying next to me on the mat hugging and seeing what close friendships I have here.
The next week, mom volunteered to host and lead Ladies Tea. We set it all up in the living room of the place she stayed at for the month. It was perfect for all the girls.
My mom did such a great job leading the study and I was so blessed to sit back and hear her teaching on something that soooo hit home for me. She talked about Jesus being a healer and even described to the girls that she was once healed, when one leg was drastically (and painfully) shorter than the other; that was prayed over and watched the other leg grow before her very eyes. She also talked to the girls about my dad not receiving a healing, and that it didn't believe that Jesus wasn't a healer, just had other plans. She shared about those changing their lives (the ones we know about) and giving their lives to the Lord. My mom did a great job. I'm so proud of her.
Koda and Kenai were blessed with many leggos when they were in America. Its one of the boys favorite things to do, and Babu loves following the directions and building things with them.
My mom got right in there playing with all the kids. They loved her. She bought the boys a play mat to have in their room. Its not only comfortable for playing on but great educational for my kids and the local kids English.
Mom jumped right into the volleyball games at our house.
